Sense/Net 6.0.5 Community Edition
The new release includes Enterprise 2.0 features and lots of bug fixes
In today's enterprises one of the most important things for people working together is communication
. This is what we focused on in this new release and will be working on continuously in the following months.
• Before installing please read installation section
on our wiki!
• Please note that there might be issues when installing the package with WebPI to IIS 7.0. Should you encounter any problems during installation, please report the issue to our forum at http://forum.sensenet.com
• Application pools should be running with .NET 4
• ASP.NET MVC 2 is required
• ASP.NET MVC 3 is required
We want to support the communication with a central place on a workspace page: the Wall. This is where you can track the changes in the workspace (created or modified content) and the currently discussed topics your colleagues are working on.
- post: share an important message with all workspace members
- comment: discuss topics in-place, without leaving the page
- share: bring an important document to others' notice with a few clicks
- like: express your feelings with a single click
There is a chance that you want to present the same content not only in a desktop web browser but on tablet PCs and mobile phones at the same time. With our device-aware application model it is possible to serve different layouts to various devices on the same url.

New webpart framework
We decided to rewrite our webpart framework so that we can provide a lot smaller (thus faster) html to clients. Mobile development just has been made easier.
There are a couple of new features in this release that will likely change in the near future. We wanted to give a glimpse of them anyway because they represent an important feature set that will be available in SenseNet
soon: Enterprise 2.0
This is the place where users can share anything about themselves to allow co-workers to find them with a few clicks. This is the place where users can store their own documents and photos and control who can access them.
These two new content types help people working on the same project share information with each other more easily. The familiar built-in wiki and blog features make the learning curve minimal.
One of the most useful information about a project is the list of people who work on it. The members of a workspace are able to find each other easily and track the changes of their projects.
Other features under the hood
Working with NLB environments is not an easy task but with this new release of SenseNet we just made it simpler. We have administrative tools for storing and restoring the Lucene index and optimize it (make it faster) after a busy workday.
Settable main fields
When you want to import your old content into our Content Repository
it is important that you can set the creation date and the user who created it - this is exactly what we made possible in this release: Created by
, Modified by
, Creation date
and Modification date
fields can be set.Production level config:http://wiki.sensenet.com/index.php?title=Configuration_for_Production_Environment_-_version_6.0.5
