Sense/Net 6.5.2 Community Edition
After a couple of private patches for Enterprise customers, finally a new Community Edition is available for Sense/Net ECM! As always, we offer new features and many bug fixes.
Please review the changes and new features and give a feedback on our forum
Main new features
- Binary handling
- Content Query template parameters
- OData improvements
- Breadcrumb portlet additions
- Task Management enhancements
We made a significant change in the way we handle binaries in the database. Previously every file version (e.g. 1.0 Approved, 1.1 Draft, etc.) had their own binary. That meant duplicate rows in the db even if only the metadata have changed. From now on when it is not necessary to copy the actual binary content in the database (for example the user simply wants to check out the file), we won't make duplicates. This architectural change will let us offer important speedup-related features in the future.
A cool new feature for portal builders using content query: new options are available
when defining date-related content queries. For example you can refer to the previous month or 3 days after next week in your content query text. This options are also available in the query wizard user interface that targets end users.
Finally it is possible to create content from a template via an OData request. This lets you create whole libraries or even workspaces with a single client-side request!
The Breadcrumb portlet
just became a lot more flexible! It is truly context bound, and you have a few more additional properties, check out the wiki article above.
The Task Management framework
(available for Enterprise customers) has improved in this release: a more detailed logging is available for developers, and the Task Monitor UI connects to the central web app through SenseNet ECM. The latter means you can hide your task management installation behind a firewall, making the system more secure. How to installHow to install Sense/NetDetailed changelogChange log 6.5 - 6.5.2
